Biography
| My first breakthrough as an artist came when a teacher told me I should never, ever write on my art. Today, as a tribute to her, I have become a conceptual artist and jam words and drawings into the page, each as critical as the other. My influences vary, but definitely include Victorian biology notebooks, deep sea fish, Oxacan wood carving, video games, and a somewhat twisted sense of humor. What I really value in my art are strong, rich colors and dynamic motion. My greatest reward is seeing people smile or laugh when they look at my art. As my friend Amy Louise Beck (of The Wear-With-All [link] says, "It's not art if no one looks at it." |
